Land Rover Series 3 wanted in dade

1977 Land Rover Series 3 PLEASE HELP,
i am currently rebuilding a 1977 land rover series 3 which is highly customized.
right now i am using a 2000 isuzu 2.8L turbo diesel motor and the original land rover trans (4-speed with the factory overdrive).
the car runs great, but i do not think that the marriage of parts are spot on. every year i am finding myself having to rebuld the gearbox.
so i am looking to put a 3.9L land rover motor in it (or a 3.0Tdi motor, although many rover enthusiasts recommend the 3.9L motor over the 3.0Tdi, mainly stating that it is a much easier motor to find parts for and easier to maintain.
as well, i would like to find a land rover 5-speed trans for the new motor and install a roverdrive overdrive unit with the trans.
i think that this will make the car a much more reliable car and as well make it a great everyday driver and a GREAT weekend warrior.
i just sold my mercedes g290td and put aside some money to make these final mods (hopefully) to the truck. i think it will be a great set up.
